Amidst the rumours of Amir Khan facing Floyd Mayweather in May 2015, the British Olympic star has been booked in to face Devon Alexander in the mean time. Khan, 27, has gone unbeaten in three since getting TKO’d by Danny Garcia in 2012.
The bout vs Alexander will be for the WBC silver and WBA international welterweight titles.
Former IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander bounced back from his 2013 decision loss to Shawn Porter with a decision win over Jesus Soto Karass in June of this year.
Stylistically this should be a fun fight to watch, and both guys sport similar records. Alexander is 26-2 (14 KO), while Khan sports a 29-3 (19 KO). The main difference here is that Khan has been stopped in all his three losses, whereas Alexander has only ever lost on the scorecards (Tim Bradley and Porter).
